What is a SakID and Why is it Important?

A SakID is a unique reference created by a client (e.g., an insurance company) when a treatment assignment is approved. It tracks the treatment process from start to final settlement.

Why SakID is important for healthcare providers:

  • Ensures quality assurance

  • Complies with GDPR by anonymizing patient data

  • Follows the full claims process

  • Automatically imports claim data into the EPJ system

  • Prevents billing errors

Healthcare providers should request the SakID before treatment begins to confirm coverage.

Using SakID: To verify coverage, deductible, or quotas, visit https://app.sakid.no/oppslag/. The data is encrypted and anonymized.

Important notes:

  • Data may be inaccurate if the patient used reimbursement without SakID.

  • Changes to coverage after SakID generation are not updated automatically.

  • SakID is valid starting 14 days before creation.

  • Patients are responsible for providing accurate information.
